Westside Animal Hospital is looking for an adaptable Licensed / Certified Veterinary Technician or skilled Veterinary Assistant to join their team in Cumberland, ME. This position is available full-time or part-time. We are a growing three doctor practice that proudly practices quality medicine, in an atmosphere that is upbeat, fun, and team orientated.

• 
  Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides compassionate care to patients and clients.
  • Performs physical assessments and keeps accurate medical records in accordance with hospital policies.
  • Safe, low stress, and compassionate handling and restraint.
  • Comfortable with client education and communication with client in person and on phone
  • Venipuncture including IV placement
  • Assists the Veterinarian in medical, surgical and dental procedures
  • Assisting in radiography and digital imaging
  • Pharmacy skills, including protocols for filling in-house

  Requirements:

  • Veterinary Technician Certification (CVT) or License (LVT) preferred but not required
  • Preferred experience in anesthesia induction and monitoring (training available)
  • Must have a positive attitude, a sense of humor, and be a team player
  • Ability to multitask
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
