Sullivan Family Pet Hospital has been providing exceptional veterinary care to Johnston families and surrounding areas for over 20 years. We are a full service small animal hospital that strongly emphasizes client education and provides high level compassionate care for our patients. We treat all clients and patients like they are family.
We currently have an immediate opening for a full-time veterinary technician. We are looking for a highly ambitious, self-motivated, and compassionate candidates to join our team of technicians at Sullivan Family Pet Hospital.
Veterinary Technician must be able to perform the following:
- Perform in-house labs: blood chemistries, fecal floats, fecal smears, urinalysis, ear cytology, skin cytology, etc.
- Place IV catheters
- Administer medications
- Animal restraint
- Prepare patients for surgery, administer anesthesia, monitor during surgery, and provide post-op recovery
- Ability to correctly position and take radiographs
- Perform dental cleanings and take digital dental radiographs
- Ability to read and write in medical records
- Perform tasks based on the doctor’s notes and verbal instructions
- Accurately dispense and fill prescription medications
- Ability to educate clients regarding procedures or necessary treatments
Preferred candidates will have the following qualifications:
- Be a RVT/CVT or graduate from an accredited program with 1 year of experience in a clinic setting
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Strong customer service skills
- Compassionate and caring
- Detail oriented
- Ability to multi-task
- Punctual
