Summary:

As an integral part of our team, the Cardiac Sonographer reflects the mission, vision, and values of Pulse Heart Institute. Working under the authority of the Medical Director, the Cardiac Sonographer is responsible for obtaining high quality images of the heart and related structures to assist the Cardiologist with the diagnosis and treatment of patients. This position requires travel to other Pulse clinics.

Responsibilities of the Echocardiographer/Cardiac Sonographer:

• Uses the AIDET framework of Acknowledge – Introduce – Duration – Explanation – Thank You to thoroughly explain the procedure; facilitate patients' cooperation; and provide a positive patient experience
• Completes exam accurately and timely, adapting protocols according to degree and type of pathology encountered, while adhering to Standards of Intersocietal Accreditation of Echocardiography
• Performs all duties in accordance with the policies and procedures of Pulse Heart Institute
• Performs clerical duties specific to ICAEL quality assurance
• Performs departmental maintenance duties
• Maintains licensure, BLS and continuing education requirements per the Standards of the ICAEL

Certification/Licensure:

Registered or registry eligible with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers with a specialty Registration of Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographers (RDCS). If RDCS registry eligible, must receive RDCS certification within 12 months of hire or transfer. Registered with Cardiovascular Credentialing International as Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) may be substituted for RDCS with the expectation of obtaining ARDMS registry within 12 months of hire or transfer. BLS certification required.

Education:

Must be a graduate of a CAAHEP or CMA approved School of Diagnostic Ultrasound or equivalent amount of on-the-job training as outlined by ICAEL accreditation requirement

Pay: $34.76 - $46.43 per hour
