Job Title: UX Researcher- Studio
Location: Remote (USA, must work PST Hours)
Compensation: $132.00/hr

A core part of our team's mission is to create efficient and effective products for our colleagues and creators to support them in producing an amazing and diverse array of titles that delight our expansive global audience. We are seeking a UX research contractor with a wide expertise of product research skills, including usability, prototype testing, interviews, focus groups, and survey writing and analysis. The goal? Uncovering insights to better understand how 3rd party and proprietary software is being used, where any gaps may exist in functionality, and determine if the experience with the software is friction-free, meets product goals, and solves real, human problems.
Team: You will be closely collaborating with product managers, designers, researchers, data scientists, engineers, and studio partners to take on complex enterprise workflows with interdependencies that link across the entire studio. You’ll find innovative ways to help technology enhance the powerful leaders running the studio; making more space for quick decisions, clear communication, and creative risk taking.
Location: Remote, in the US, PST hours required (Los Angeles preferred) with travel to the Los Angeles and Los Gatos offices as needed for research and to meet stakeholders.
In this role, you will:
- Conceptualize, conduct, synthesize and socialize end-to end research on several products within our Studio product ecosystem
- Manage a portfolio of multiple, fast-moving projects at once
- Generateclear research briefs that outline study goals and leverage appropriate evaluative and generative research methods
- Partner with Design, Product Management, Engineers, Studio Insights and Data Scientists to create a learning and testing plan
- Evaluate users’ motivations and unmet needs to improve product adoption
- Define and facilitate workshops to foster cross-functional collaboration, action your research, and inform experiences that reflect a clearly defined problem.
- Influence product decisions by encouraging creative thinking that creates major movement or shifts our direction, preventing us from making uninformed decisions or wasting resources, and improving the studio experience for our in-house and external partners.
About you:
- 4+ years of experience leading qualitative research (with some basic quant survey skills) supporting product innovation or development such as ethnographic, UX/Product, or design research for multiple, complex product in an ecosystem
- Experience in with service design and enterprise workflows a plus
- Experience must include end-to-end project execution (e.g., recruitment, study design, moderation, analysis, reporting)
- Expertise in usability testing, user-centered design testing, ethnography, lab-based user testing, prototype evaluation, concept testing, lab-based testing, competitive analysis.
- Clear, demonstrable experience as a product researcher or similar role, on a complex B2B workflow or enterprise product suite with a proven record of seeing products from concept to delivery
- Effective verbal and written communication style distilling complex multi-method research reports into understandable, compelling, connected and actionable insights
- Experience in or passion for the filmmaking industry a plus
- Ability to frequently travel between Los Angeles and Los Gatos to meet with stakeholders
- Highly collaborative, proactive, independent, entrepreneurial and self-driven.
- Strong communicator with an attention to detail
- Degree in research, psychology, social sciences, human computer interaction or a related field is a plus but not required
