Title: Utilization Review Admission Specialist (Scheduling Coordinator) - OR - Mount Sinai Morningside- Full Time (7am-4pm)
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Produces an updated operating room schedule that reflects changes that are a result of calling each surgeon, confirming their surgical reservations.
- Schedules, cancels, rearranges and updates the OR schedule as necessary. Communicates this information to other areas that assist in facilitating the care of patients at Mount Sinai West and Mount Sinai St. Luke's
- Schedules cases and enters scheduled cases into the computer. Verifies reservations for scheduled cases.
- Schedules patients for surgery according to room and time slot availability.
- Coordinates scheduling of elective cases and operating room block time.
- Maintains a system of filing surgical reservation forms
- Check credentials system for physician's delineation of privileges for equipment and/or procedures according to medical board guidelines.
- Maintains and keeps all Delineation of Privileges manuals current.
- Verifies scheduled OR procedures with computerized scheduling system for appropriateness of procedures, time allocated, equipment conflicts and physician privileges
- Requests pre-certification number on required procedures from physicians
- Performs other duties as required
- Provide customer service by troubleshooting and resolving incoming discrepancies
- Make calls, answer telephone and emails, and expedite all necessary requests
- Responsible for maintaining the required daily scheduled case productivity (35 per day)
Requirements:
- High School Diploma
- One year of hospital experience highly preferred
- Good computer skills
- Great customer service skills
- Excellent communications
- Knowledge of Medical Terminology
- Organizational Skills
- EPIC experience preferred

Compensation
The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $33809 - $50713 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
