INTECON is looking to immediately add a System Engineer II within the NC3 Enterprise Center at USSTRATCOM at FT Meade, MD. This position is contingent upon contract award. In support of the NC3 Enterprise Center (NEC) Systems Engineering and Integration (SE&I) Division, personnel shall provide support for the Enterprise Sustainment & Evolution branch and the Enterprise Mission Management branch in the following areas: Program and Mission Management, Configuration Management, Technical Standards, Mission Engineering Analysis, Evolution, and Architecture.

Responsibilities:

Systems Engineering – Evolution

  • Assess and identify opportunities and technological capabilities across the NC3 enterprise, interface with industry, DoD mission partners and academia and provide specific recommendations for SE&I (e.g., reports, papers, briefings) to act upon them.
  • Assess new technologies and innovations to develop technical recommendations that ensure the integrity and continuity of operations supporting evolving NC3/NLCC requirements.
  • Collaborate with NEC Next Gen Division and other key stakeholder to support the development and sustainment of an engineering campaign plan that captures, in time block increments, programs, initiatives, and investments for the NC3 Enterprise outline in the NC3 Campaign Plan. Includes developing implementation plans, timelines, de-conflicts efforts, identify dependencies, and development of integrated planning documents and briefings.
  • Collaborate with NEC divisions, to incorporate opportunities and technological capabilities and associated data (i.e., documents, studies, briefings) into the NEC digital engineering environments. Includes publishing guidance for capturing the results of work packages within the engineering campaign plan, such as completed mission engineering studies (to include artifacts) or developed interface specifications.

Requirements:

  • Shall be a US Citizen
  • At least three (3) years of demonstrated relevant experience with the NEC.
  • At least three (3) years of demonstrated relevant experience with and/or education in communication principles and theory in NC3 systems.
  • Must have at least five years of relevant experience in system engineering
  • Must have at least two years of experience in analytical problem solving related to information technology workflow, organization, and planning.

Clearance requirements:

  • Must have a Top Secret (TS) security clearance with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), Nuclear Command and Control - Extremely Sensitive Information (NC2-ESI), North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) and Special Access Required (SAR) classified material, Communications Security (COMSEC) Information, Restricted Data (RD), Formally Restricted Data (FRD), Critical Nuclear Weapon Design Information (CNWDI), and Foreign Government.

Education Requirements:

  • Must possess a BS or BA degree in one of the following fields: Computer Science, Information Systems Management, Mathematics, Operations Research, Statistics, Engineering, or an educational equivalent.
