Urgent Care Manager – Mental Health Services for Adult Outpatient Program
Hours: 40 hours per week; Monday - Friday, 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
Pay Rate: $36.50 to $40.50 per hour
Licensure: Licensed or license-eligible with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) required
Program Overview:
Located in downtown San Diego, CA, the Jane Westin Center is an adult outpatient walk-in clinic which provides a variety of intervention services to individuals in crisis. We serve individuals with serious mental illness and co-occurring substance abuse disorders.
Our services include initial psychosocial assessments, psychiatric and medication evaluations, crisis intervention and linking clients with ongoing community-based services.
As an Urgent Care Manager, you will...
- Meet the bio-psychosocial needs of clients by providing indicated behavioral health services, case management services and/or crisis intervention, and bills and documents services appropriately.
- Work with Program Director to manage staff and program needs.
- May determine diagnosis and/or a change in diagnosis from current diagnosis.
- Conduct initial behavioral health assessment.
- Provide crisis interventions to ensure safety of clients.
- Help maintain internal tracking systems for walk-ins and referrals from other programs.
- Coordinate and liaison with the psychiatric staff on an on-going basis as the need arises.
- Complete initial screening and triage for urgent walk-in clients as needed. Determines service eligibility and assesses for safety concerns.
- Conduct bi-monthly peer reviews, quarterly medication monitoring reviews, bi-monthly productivity reports and reporting weekly walk-in data. Responsible for other reviews and data tracking as requested by Program Director.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Licensed - Ph.D/Psy.D, LMFT, LPCC or LCSW or Waivered Psychologist; license must be kept current during employment
- Minimum of four years of experience working with persistent and serious mental illness is preferred
- Understanding of psychosocial rehabilitation (PSR) and recovery principles, wrap-around models, and evidence-based practices
- Demonstration of ability to make assessments, design treatment plans, and document accordingly.
- Ability to maintain calm demeanor in crisis situations is essential
- Proficient computer skills, including MS Office
- Able to pass criminal/background clearance and credentialing review
