Job Summary and Qualifications

Under general supervision and according to established hospital and nursing department policies and procedures, performs a variety of duties including EKG monitoring and interpretation, compiling, transcribing, preparing and maintaining records in a specific nursing area or unit. Provides information and communication services to visitors and staff. Assists nursing staff in maintaining efficient operations on the unit. You are expected to smile!

What qualifications you will need:

• Successful completion of EKG course and exam preferred
• Current BLS required on all nursing clinical units; or BLS Instructor issued by AHA or American Red Cross required

• Minimum of a High school degree or equivalent required.

  • Previous clerical experience.
  • Previous experience as a Unit Secretary in a hospital setting preferred.
  • Strong customer service skills required.

HCA Florida Poinciana Hospital is a purpose-guided healthcare provider. We are a four-story, 150,000-square-foot hospital. We have 70 private beds and a six-bed private ICU. We provide a full range of acute care services including emergency services, inpatient and outpatient diagnostic imaging, and inpatient and outpatient surgery. Other services include cardiac catheterization, laboratory, pharmacy, and a full range of support services. Our Emergency Department (ED) is approximately 14,500 square feet. Our ED consists of 22 private treatment rooms, an EMS entrance, and a helicopter pad.
