Position is responsible for overseeing the day to day activities of the Uniform department. Including scheduling of Team members to assure proper staffing levels. Additional responsibilities include training of all new hires, scheduling monthly inventories along with the record keeping needs to assure that proper inventories are kept by each department of the Hotel.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Responsible for opening and closing the uniform department
  • Issues clean uniforms to employees as dirty ones are turned in (one for one basis only
  • Maintains all uniform/linen logs
  • Assures compliance with uniform and linen control procedures
  • Orders supplies as needed
  • Completes weekly inventory of uniforms
  • Performs minor mending tasks when alterations is not present
  • Serve employees uniform needs in a friendly, accurate and professional manner
  • Works to benefit the hotel by adhering to hotel standards, rules and regulations
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Manager
  • Keep control of all condemned uniforms
  • Collects soiled uniforms from employees and processes for cleaning
  • Receives and inspects soiled uniforms for damage and/or stains
  • Separates damaged/stained uniforms for special processing
  • Checks pockets and removes foreign articles
  • Turns found articles over to Security/Lost and Found
  • Sorts and bags uniforms for transport to laundry
  • Completes employee uniform laundry agreement form
  • Complete daily checklists and order forms
  • Assign barcodes to uniforms
  • Coordinates and communicates with 3rd party uniform vendors, HR and Department heads to ensure the uniform operation runs smoothly
  • Manage temporary garment use
  • Assist with establishing and managing uniform standards as it relates to our policies
  • Manage inventory by providing and preparing detailed reports
  • Assisting in the recovery of lost or delinquent assets
  • Managing inventory to ensure team members are accessing correct uniforms
  • Coaches, counsels, retrains team members as needed in order to ensure acceptable performance
  • Trains uniform attendants in professional knowledge and skills according to the departmental standards

  • Notifies appropriate individual promptly and fully of all problems and/or unusual matters of significance
  • Is polite, friendly, and helpful to all guests, management and fellow employees
  • Attends all appropriate hotel meetings and training sessions
  • Maintains cleanliness and excellent condition of equipment and work area
  • Executes emergency procedures in accordance with hotel standards
  • Complies with required safety regulations and procedures
  • Complies with hotel standards, policies and rules
  • Recycles whenever possible
  • Remains current with hotel information and changes
  • Complies with hotel uniform and grooming standards
Qualifications
  • Ability to read basic instructions in English and basic writing skills
  • Ability to understand safety instructions
  • Ability to stand, bend and stoop repetitively during entire 8 hour shift
  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs
  • Ability to work flexible schedule to include weekends and holidays
