Description:
Truck dispatcher schedule freight deliveries and arrange pickups of shipments and parcels. Their duties include scheduling truck drivers, relaying shipment details as arranged with customers, and setting up drivers' routes. Truck dispatchers are also required to review truck drivers' logs. A competent Truck Dispatcher needs to be highly detailed and work well under pressure to coordinate lots of changing factors. While their main priority is scheduling trucks efficiently. They will also handle the receiving of millwork, and ensures that the shipments are inspected. They need to keep up with invoices to make sure orders are correct.
This position is full-time and eligible for benefits.
Requirements:
Ability to schedule drivers, plan routes, and dispatch drivers to customer/vendor locations.
Prefer experience in customer services, as well as generating freight bills and invoices.
Prefer experience with Transportation Management Software (TMS), such as Scaleit and Samsara.
Proficiency in office software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook Express.
Ability to monitor and maintain drivers' qualifications, logs, truck maintenance schedules, and repairs.
Knowledge of applicable transportation regulations and laws preferred.
Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills.
