The Tribal Health Department is searching for a full-time, benefited, Tribal Health Planner to join their growing team!
The Tribal Health Planner is responsible for the coordination of planning and development of a variety of grant funded programs in the Jamestown Health Clinics that includes Tribal Citizen's health care programs. This position requires extensive research and planning for Tribal program development and funding; is responsible for facilitating long range planning of community programs, as well as grant development, proposal writing, and grant management

Essential Functions
- Responsible for establishing grant funded projects for the Jamestown Health Clinics; includes strategic planning, coordination, & communication within each facility to ensure overall departmental long-range goals and objectives are implemented in programs through appropriate grants
- Provide project management on a case-by-case basis, to applicable departments, to implement grant-funded projects throughout their lifespan, including coordinating, communicating, facilitating group processes, documenting project activities, tracking project outputs and outcomes, conducting and/or coordinating evaluation processes, budget monitoring and reporting
- Conduct funding research: coordinate surveys, studies, demographics, and conduct program evaluation; update data used in proposals and public information
- Assist the Director and Deputy Director of Health Services in developing strategic methods to establish stable, comprehensive programs that can meet the short and long-term social, health, and cultural needs of Tribal Citizens and patients utilizing the Jamestown Health Clinics services
- Performs grants research and development to expand and stabilize funding base for Tribal programs; links existing programs to future programs to facilitate a comprehensive, coordinated effort in meeting the needs of services provided by the Jamestown Health Clinics
- Develops and maintains cooperative working relations with internal and external partners, Tribal committees, and funding agencies
- Adhere to all JST policies and procedures, including but not limited to standards for safety, and work practices as described in the Occupational Exposure Control Plan and HIPPA
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Health, Planning, Sociology, or related discipline
- Minimum three (3) years of experience in health or medical services program planning, with additional experience in producing and administering state and federal grants under deadlines
- Knowledge of principles, methods and techniques of program planning and design, grant writing, budget development, and program evaluation
- Knowledge of survey methods, human subject protocols, basic statistical analysis, and evidence-based and outcome-based program evaluation
- Must possess excellent organizational, coordination, and project management skills, with experience working in simultaneous, often diverse programs
- Ability to effectively write complex documents including grants, proposals, budgets, and reports; strong business writing and editing skills
- Critical thinking; small-group facilitation; and the ability to work effectively both independently as well as a team member
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with a wide range of individuals and groups
- Ability to build coalitions among groups with differing needs and objectives
- Knowledge of techniques and practices in strategic planning and group dynamics
- Experience in managing state/federal grant and contract programs and reporting requirements
- Knowledge of Local, State, and Federal Laws and Regulations
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Excellent organization skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
- Effective time management, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated work initiative with little or no supervision
- Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background investigation
- Uphold all current vaccine requirements for employment
- Ability to travel locally and regionally as assigned
- Valid Washington State Driver's License

- American Indian/Alaska Native preferences apply
- Knowledge of Indian culture and communities, or experience working with minority populations
