As a Program Supervisor you will be responsible for the successful administration and management duties of the Refugee Transportation Services program, maintain consistency with professional standards, contract regulations and national office expectations. This individual will also supervise case managers and case aides.
This position is expected to function effectively with little supervision while following the guidelines given on procedures, along with agency, federal, and state regulatory requirements.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in the hiring and training of all direct service staff employed by Refugee Transportation Program;
- Provide direct supervision of all direct service staff through individual supervisory sessions, team meetings, peer supervision, and annual performance reviews;
- Ensure Refugee Transportation Program achieves and exceeds required program goals;
- Work closely with the Data Specialist to tightly monitor program statistics and needs;
- Review client records and reports to ensure high quality in treatment planning, and worker follow-through with services implementation consistent with best practices for person centered planning, and culturally-sensitive service delivery;
- Provide after hours and emergency coverage, supervision, and consultation with workers to address emergency client situations;
- Assume lead responsibility for recruiting, developing, nurturing, and maintaining relationships with businesses and community organization that aid in refugees transportation self-sufficiency;
- Participate in meetings of the Freedom Flight Refugee Task Force and other multi-agency planning groups to help coordinate a unified network of culturally-sensitive services for refugees;
- Provide, when needed, case coverage for refugee cases in the absence or turn-over of program workers;
- Provide oversight of and occasionally participate in the project’s transportation and language training activities to ensure quality and familiarity with training activities;
- Maintain positive working relationships with the program’s collaborative relationships with the community providers of language, employment support, medical, legal, social service, and other services, as well as linkages with ethnic community organizations who support refugees and immigrants;
- Give presentations to church groups and businesses about Bethany’s Refugee Transportation program;
- Assist the Program Director in assessing, adjusting, and reporting on program development and assist in providing leadership in service expansion opportunities;
- Participate in and lead project teams, chair, act as liaison, and assure that project teams function efficiently and effectively;
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Social Services, or related field from an accredited college; master’s degree, preferred;
- At least three (3) years of business or social work experience;
- Teaching or training experience desired;
- Strong leadership skills and experience in management, supervising, and program development;
- Demonstrate excellent organizational and both written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking;
- Must be a self-starter and self-motivated with a desire and passion to make an impact to the surrounding community;
- Must possess an ability to learn from, establish rapport, and relate sensitively to multiracial and multicultural groups of people and community leaders;
- Work well under pressure and adaptable to change;
- Excellent verbal and written communication with strong interpersonal skills;
- Excellent attention to detail and highly organized;
- Computer and typing skills sufficient to perform essential job functions;
- Active motor vehicle license and maintain a reliable vehicle with adequate insurance coverage;
- Pass a criminal history screen, including state and local child protection agency registries;
- Subscription to and integration of the agency Statement of Faith, Mission Statement, and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Commitment.
