Job Summary
Operates a phone, utilizes dispatching software, and drives a bus as needed. Answers questions and promotes transit services with a positive attitude. Ability to handle stress and work in a fast-paced environment.

Minimum Qualifications
1) High school diploma, or the equivalent;
2) Valid MN Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with passenger endorsements or ability to obtain within 21 days of employment. (Transit bus provided to take CDL Driving Exam)
3) Negative pre-employment drug test (continue to be subject to drug testing per Federal CDL laws)

Examples of Duties

  • Operate the phone to schedule rides and answer questions about the service.
  • Utilize dispatching software to schedule safe and efficient routes delivering rides to and from their destination in a timely manner.
  • Operate transit bus in town and rural areas
  • Assist individuals on and off bus as needed, or requested by passenger.
  • Operation of bus equipment including, but not limited to, the wheelchair lift, two-way radios, tablets, fire extinguishers, etc...
Hours: 40 hours per week

Compensation and Benefits
The compensation range for this position is $17.17 to $19.33 per hour, depending on experience. This position is eligible for a wide range of competitive benefits, including state pension plan, vacation time, sick time, personal and holiday leave time. In addition, the position is eligible for the County's cafeteria health plan, consisting of three health plans and carrier options; Dental, Vision, and Life insurance; Health Savings and Flexible Spending accounts; Long-term and Short-Term Disability; Supplemental Accident, Hospital, and Critical Illness plans; and Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program. The County contributes monthly health benefits to aide in the rising of insurance costs with the contribution rate evaluated annually. Additionally, employees have the option to take part of this contribution as cash in lieu of benefits.
