JOB SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIES:
William Blair is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented candidate to join our Trade Operations team as an entry-level Associate. As an integral member of the team, this individual will work with internal and external parties throughout the daily trade process. Specific responsible will include:
- Work with custodians, brokers, trading desk operations, investment accountants and portfolio administrators on trades throughout the daily trade process. Provide support of the trade order management system as well as the associated interface programs. Verify trades settle on time.
- Research and resolve issues to ensure timely settlement.
- Ensure systems accurately reflect daily transactions. Draft and distribute various reports to trade team.
- Resolve system issues utilizing internal support or external vendor resources as appropriate. Respond to user questions and issues in a timely manner, to the satisfaction of the user.
- Respond to questions and issues from the trade team pertaining to trade operations issues. Resolve issues in a timely and accurate manner.
- Execute system user training as needed to ensure users understand the trade operations systems and their functionality and capabilities.
- Perform system maintenance, such as the set up of new accounts and users, addition and removal of data, regulatory changes, etc., and the inclusion of restrictions and hierarchy.
- Maintain procedures manual.
- Provide suggestions for internal policy and procedure improvements.
- Ensure trade support standards, policies and procedures are followed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree required, Finance Accounting or Math majors preferred but not required
- 1-3 years of operations, trading or other industry experience required (internship or full-time)
- Solid problem solving, analytical and comprehension skills
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Interest in learning WB investment products
- Concern for quality and a high level of detail-orientation
- Highly motivated with a desire to learn; demonstrated initiative and persistence
- Service-oriented and ability to build rapport with internal and external customers
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office products
- Desire to work in a hybrid capacity (2 days in/3 days remote)
