New Horizons Telecom is looking for highly motivated qualified individuals for our Tower Technician positions. New Horizons Telecom, Inc. specializes in the delivery of turnkey telecommunications infrastructure solutions for clients within all major commercial sectors and industries.

The Tower Technician Position duties will include:

• Climb and work on communication towers for the purpose of:
  • Installation, replacement, and/or repair antenna systems equipment
  • Perform tower maintenance
• Basic use and care of hand tools and mechanical equipment
• Identify and communicate hazards associated with:
  • Tower climbing
  • Construction equipment
  • Working on or near energized lines and electrical equipment
• Analyze problematic situations and adopt an appropriate course of action
• Follow instructions accurately and complete tasks as assigned
• Recognize safety hazards and perform duties in a safe manner
• Perform job duties in all weather conditions
• Complete and submit Daily Reports and JSA (Job Safety Analysis) prior to each day's work.

Minimum requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent and 3+ years of experience climbing and working on towers
• Self-starter with the ability to work without direct supervision
• Possess a valid driver license (CDL preferred), be able to pass the Motor Vehicle Records check, and drug screening and background check
• Field experience with Anritsu Site Master, PIM test equipment, and antenna alignment tools
• Climb tall structures (100 feet or more) with 50 lb. load
• Capable of the replacement and maintenance of tower and RF components, such as:
  • Coax, connectors, antennas, TMA’s, lighting systems, and structural members
• Highly organized and detail oriented
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
• Able to stack self-support towers, monopoles, install waveguide, antennas and microwave dishes
• Experience completing “closeout” packages

• Maintain a consistent level of excellence in job performance and work ethic
• Proficient in MS Office
  • Strong computer skills required
• Travel for extended periods of time up to and including:
  • Overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays
