Tooling Supervisor Job Summary: This position is responsible for repairing and maintaining tools, dies, fixtures and related fabrications for Production, Maintenance, and Engineering operations. Set up, operate machine tools such as vertical milling machine, grinder, lathe, cutters, drill presses, and all other assigned equipment. Assist and develop tool technicians as requested. Follow all safety procedures and rules, company policies and rules, maintain an organized, clean, safe work area with the expectation of a good attendance record.
Description of Work Duties and Responsibilities for Tooling Supervisor:
· Maintains safe, healthy, and clean work environment by following standards and procedures, complying with legal codes and regulations. Must comply with all requirements of the AGS Employee Handbook.
· Communicates with Maintenance, Production, and Engineering to receive instructions and coordinate activities necessary to maintain production.
· Makes decisions and judgments about proper course of action for tooling changes, repairs, and maintenance.
· Set up and operate vertical milling machine, surface grinder, lathe, cutters, drill press, and other auxiliary machines to make metallic and plastic workpieces.
· Measure, examine, and/or test completed units to check for defects and ensure conformance to specifications using standard toolroom measuring instruments such as calipers, gauge blocks, micrometers, and dial indicators.
· Perform preventative maintenance activities and repairs on current in-house production tools and fixtures.
· Perform insert changes on in-house tooling.
· Maintain and organize tool room, order and track tool room supplies
· Inspect and verify new tools meet AGS Tooling Standards.
· Work with Engineering on production tool design concepts and modifications for minor engineering changes on new and existing in-house tooling.
· Maintain equipment in proper operational condition.
· Provide technical support to other employees regarding mechanical design, fabrication, testing, or documentation.
· Documents all work per AGS quality system requirements.
· Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
· Accomplishes maintenance goals and companywide goals by completing tooling related objectives.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position is responsible for the management of department Tooling Technicians.

· Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus.
· Must be able to work overtime and weekends as required.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE: The Tooling Supervisor must have experience with tooling and knowledge of injection molding machines.
· High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational school preferred.
· 10+ years toolmaking experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Must have knowledge of CNC controls, lathe, surface grinder, inspection devices and/or related equipment.
· Working knowledge of reading blueprints, technical drawings, and specification illustrations, Microsoft Excel, and AutoCad,
· Good written and verbal communication.
· 3 years supervisory experience.
· Welding Experience Preferred
Wage and Benefits for the Tooling Supervisor Position:
· This is a full-time hourly position.
· Hourly pay rate is based on experience.
· Vacation time up to 10 days can be accrued starting the first year. After 3 years of employment 15 days of vacation can be accrued.
· AGS health care insurance (medical, dental, vision), life insurance, and 401K will be made available.
· Regular workdays are Monday thru Friday. A minimum of 40 hours required. Overtime may be required and assigned by the Tooling Manager.
· AGS Technology will provide the Tooling Supervisor with access to a computer if needed.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $34.00 - $40.00 per hour
