Description/Position Purpose Position is based in the Office of Family & Community Engagement to lead and deliver District level Title I Family and Community Engagement initiatives and consultation to schools with emphasis on developing meaningful relationships to improve school-home-community partnerships to advance links to student learning and academic success.

A Bachelor’s Degree or relevant experience in family and/or community engagement, education, or a related field. Skill and proficiency in program development and multiple project management; fluent in writing and speaking Spanish and English; capability to provide direct support and guidance to schools.

Experience: Three to five years of relevant experience.

Fiscal Responsibilities: Ability to create, maintain and work within the departmental and Title I budgets.

Essential Functions

1. Serve as the lead and contact for Title I related events and activities: non-public school consultation, public school support and guidance and other related inter-department and District-wide initiatives.

2. Oversight, scheduling and development of programs, services and activities at the District’s Family Resource Centers.

3. Serve as the lead for Title I Family and Community Engagement for non-public schools: Develop and facilitate family and community engagement activities

4. Monitor the Title I Tools Family and Community Engagement benchmarks for improved practice to enlist families as partners and decision makers and build awareness of how to support children’s learning

5. Plan & implement family and community engagement activities and events for both public and non-public schools

6. Work collaboratively with the Director of Federal & State Funded Programs and District Title I Team to support Title I teachers, school leadership teams to effectively employ family and community engagement strategies

7. Ensure compliance with all Title I Family and Community Engagement requirements: Prepare compliance documentation and reports

8. Evaluate and scale Title I Family and Community Engagement programming initiatives to align with the department, and district impact goals, outcomes and the Dual Capacity-Building Framework for Family-School Partnerships

9. Work with designated community leaders and organizations to collaboratively provide resources and support systems to parents, caregivers, and families

10. Develop and strengthen District relationships with parents of students attending Title I schools and related parent groups to improve public support for and perception of the District

11. Support school leaders and school staff in strengthening and developing relationships with parents in order to improve two-way communication, volunteer support, family knowledge of and perception of schools and educational opportunities for students

12. Work with Parent Teacher Associations (PTAs), school parent groups to build/grow participation and support for schools and District

13. Collaborate with Title I, Bilingual and other departments as appropriate on family/community outreach, collaborations and partnerships

14. Develop and utilize measurement tools to gather input from families and community members to demonstrate impact of outreach efforts and program improvement and sustainability

15. Support families with concerns to find an appropriate resolution
