Theatre Management Coordinator
New Bern Civic Theatre (NBCT), is a nonprofit, community-based theatre organization that produces a full season of non-professional plays and musicals, and a parallel season of professional special events called the Encore Series each year. The primary function of the Theatre Management Coordinator (TMC) is to assist the Executive Director and Office/Technology Manager with the day-to-day operational duties as an on-site employee of NBCT. The Theatre Management Coordinator is a 40-hour per week full-time position at 414 Pollock Street, New Bern, NC. Some evening and weekend hours will be required as needed. This position will fill several critical roles as a vital member of the NBCT team. Duties will include:
Ticketing and Event Coordination:
-Taking incoming calls regarding ticket purchases and general questions about events
-Handling group ticket sales and field-trip packages for educational outreach
-Manage Enrollment for Next Generation Summer Theatre Camps
-Coordinate Annual Donor/Volunteer Appreciation Event
-Manage Audience Relations (craft satisfaction surveys, prepare follow up emails of coming events to audience members of similar interests, field simple complaints and/or pass on larger complaints and audience issues to the Executive Director)
Volunteer Coordination:
-Schedule front of house volunteer staff for all events
-Track new volunteer interest forms and pair volunteer with relevant opportunities
-Verify compliance with background checks required of all volunteers
Production Management Liaison:
-Manage and enter meetings/rehearsals/events on the Production Calendar to support efficient scheduling and facility use
-Manage show licensing materials from delivery through return as required by licensing houses
-Assist volunteer production managers assigned to individual season with show budgets
Marketing, Social Media, and Website Management:
-Keep website events calendar and graphics updated and accurate
-Develop interactive pages/links on website for coming events
-Push Facebook/Insta promo content per event
-Create Weekly Newsletter content for subscribers
-Creates playbills/programs for season productions and special events
-Supervise printed event/show poster distribution
-Create playbills/programs for season productions and special events
-Making proper replies to basic questions or comments on social media: Google comments, Facebook and Instagram comments/inquiries etc.
Must be familiar with Google Docs and the Google Workspace platform. Knowledge of social media platforms and current commonly used cloud-based data programs is a plus. Good public relations/people skills a must.
