This job announcement is hiring for both cargo van drivers and step van drivers. Starting pay is $17.75 per hour (cargo van) - $19.75 per hour (step van).

MUST be at least 21 years of age

*For step van applicants--this is a DOT position, in which you will operate a step van (UPS type vehicle). All requirements must be completed within 2 weeks after hire to be scheduled for training with JJ Keller if needed*

Positive points on driving record required

**One weekend work day required, NO EXCEPTIONS**

Must be able to commit 3 days consecutively for training.

The Pierce Group LLC is a Veteran-owned Delivery Service Partner looking for motivated, reliable, customer-focused drivers who want to join our team delivering packages for Amazon. You will drive a safe, comfortable cargo van while using the latest technology to ensure that customers' orders are delivered to the right place at the right time. You will deliver small packages up to 50 pounds to mostly residential and some commercial locations. As a member of the TPG team, you will be responsible for delivering approximately 150 - 300 packages (higher during peak periods) per day over a 10-hour shift or until route is completed. Your Responsibilities consist of:

• Complying with all safety rules and work policies
• Be positive and professional with other delivery associates and customers
• Follow GPS driving instructions and time schedules
• Use handheld device to record and update delivery progress
• Be ready to tackle challenges and solve problems to meet customer needs
• Have good organizational skills and communications skills
• Deliver a wide variety of packages, 150+ stops per day, involving leaving and entering the cargo van, often times climbing stairs
• Packages can weigh up to 50 pounds
• Load, unload, prepare and safely operate the cargo van
• Ensure the cargo van is clean, fueled, and in good operating condition
• Complete an inspection of the cargo van before and after scheduled route

Other considerations

• Willing to work a flexible schedule, including weekends
• Part-time drivers work fewer days, including weekends
• Delivery experience is not required but preferred
• Company delivery van & paid training will be provided
• May assist in training other delivery associates
• No CDL needed
• Must be flexible; routes may vary and may be delayed due to rural areas, traffic from on road congestion, construction, or other factors
• Set your own schedule, but there may be adjustments including: additional hours and potential schedule changes depending on the time of the year consisting of peak seasons and other factors
• Shifts are available 7 days per week; approximate hours are from 9:00 am until route is complete. Drivers typically work four 10 hour shifts each week with a 30 minute unpaid lunch break and two 15 minute paid breaks each day.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Must be 21 years old or older
• Must have a valid Virginia driver license
• Must have a clean driving record & submit to a motor vehicle record check
• Must pass a routine 4 panel drug test
