Position Summary
The Macallan Brand Ambassador’s role is to engage and build strategic partnerships with top influencer groups, consumers and media, by bringing The Macallan “world” to life in their key city. They are required to inspire, educate, and recruit these audiences with unique and impactful experiences.
As a secondary focus, The Macallan Brand Ambassador supports major brand initiatives, and helps deliver targeted portfolio performance and trade education in priority accounts.
As we build our capabilities further, The Macallan Brand Ambassador will also be responsible to accelerate the acquisition, engagement, relationship building and build lifetime consumer value with our most highly respected and privileged clients. The key responsibilities of this role is to amplify the brand message through high touch and face to face engagement with private clients as well as to provide white glove service when such clients want to learn more and purchase our prestige high and ultra-prestige expressions in the portfolio

Job Description
The Brand Ambassador is the face of The Macallan brand for the West Division and responsible for the education and engagement of consumers, influencer groups, media, internal (and as a secondary focus, external) stakeholders, (Edrington commercial teams and key distributors/wholesalers). They will help to drive an increase in The Macallan’s ‘salience’, as measured by established tracking tools.
Specifically, they are accountable for (but not limited to):
Consumer Facing
- Acting as our in-market authority on The Macallan brand and whisky category by conducting whisky tastings and hosting unique brand experiences
- Supporting the planning and execution of experiential events
- Representing The Macallan at priority media, consumer and trade events
- Supporting the travel retail team by training staff and hosting key consumer and media events in priority airports
Consumer Facing (PCRM specific)
- Fully proficient with all aspects of The Macallan brand: able to be a brand advocate and conduct private tastings and education for client base. Actively recruit new consumers via networking and our events, etc
- Able to provide product, promotion, and suggested pricing information by clarifying business partners request and client requests; selecting appropriate information; forwarding information; answering questions
- Maintains Business Partners database by inputting all data collected via Salesforce.com, HubSpot, Harmony, or any platform system designated by Edrington
Influencer and Media Outreach
- Influencer engagement in their Key City, Los Angeles
- Building influencer networks, including collectors and professional groups
- Creating and developing a The Macallan social media following, adhering to brand social media guidelines
- Aligns with the marketing calendar and is consistent/ cohesive in brand voice and all brand communications (including WhatsApp, WeChat, SMS, email).
- Working with retained agencies to engage and build relations with relevant media and influencers
Trade Facing
- If required, and not as the primary scope of role – Focus on Spiritual Homes and top priority accounts as per market / key city segmentation.
- Delivering bespoke education and building elevated brand confidence within priority trade accounts, inspiring brand advocacy and ensuring front of mind presence
- Working collaboratively to identify opportunities and recommend change as required
- Building relationships and trust of key decision makers (e.g. beverage directors, buyers, bar staff)
- Creating and demonstrating The Macallan serves and rituals to priority On trade accounts
Skills and Experience
- Educated to degree level or equivalent gained via work experience within the luxury category
- Experience working with luxury brand(s) and their clientele
- Socially connected with Influencer communities in key markets
- Advanced social media skills (Facebook, Instagram etc)
- Category, brand and portfolio strategy expertise
- Appreciation of the ‘finer things in life’ and understanding the world of our private clients. High net worth individual interaction and influence methods
- Ability to use technology seamlessly in presentations
- Leadership and mentoring/training skills
- CRM experience
- A strong sense of ownership and pride, with the ability to work independently
- Seasoned traveler
- Fluency in English - Spanish is a plus.
- Must be of an age that adheres to Edrington’s Marketing Code of Conduct for responsible alcohol marketing
