Job Functions / Responsibilities
- Interpret and apply new engine performance specifications to end-of-line hot test for new engine programs
- Create and maintain project schedules and budgets for new product introduction to end-of-line hot test
- Specify new equipment and other resources for end-of-line test prior to new product launch
- Implement process changes on time and in budget for new product launch
- Implement test equipment changes by managing order specification, engineering design, and acceptance testing from 3rd party vendors.
- Lead and participate in multiple simultaneous engineering efforts for new product development projects
- Assist process engineers with documenting manufacturing processes for new product: SOPs, PFMEAs, control plans, layout studies, cycle time analyses, financial analysis
Qualifications & Skills
Required
- B.S. Degree in Engineering (Prefer Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Manufacturing)
- 3-5 years experience with end-of-line calibration or testing for internal combustion engines
- Extensive experience with software program language used to facilitate control and data acquisition for end-of-line test
- Experience with Visual Management/Project Management Tools
- Proven problem-solving skills
- Excellent technical, verbal, and written communication skills
- Proven ability to work in a self-directed environment
- Demonstrated ability to successfully lead and influence others
- Ability to work within deadlines to achieve goals
Desired
- 5-7 years experience in powertrain manufacturing, automotive manufacturing, or new product launch
- Experience with FEV Test Cell Manager and/or Morphee Software
- Understanding of diesel engine function and application
- Knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies
- Experience in a simultaneous engineering-style project environment
