PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

The successful applicant will join ATR's Engineering Services Division, working as a team member at our government client site involved in test and evaluation effort for Acoustics Technology Division, Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division, West Bethesda. Duties include, but not limited to:

  • Support full scale and model scale testing of undersea vehicles
  • Develop test plans and conduct readiness reviews
  • Perform installation and calibration of all instrumentation
  • Collect, process and analyze the data and develop tools as required
  • Produce technical documents and reports.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Knowledge in acoustics signatures and testing experience are highly desired
  • Experience with Naval Test Ranges (SEAFAC and AUTEC) is a plus.

SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience with full scale and model scale testing of undersea vehicles
  • Working knowledge of non-ultrasonic acoustics instrumentation technology
  • Working knowledge of data acquisition system and analysis tools
  • Working knowledge of MATLAB to support analysis capabilities
  • Strong understanding of scattering theory and physics
  • Able to effectively communicate orally and in writing
  • Travel requirement up to 30%.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Candidate must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance or favorable adjudication of a national security background investigation. Current successful background investigation completion is a plus.
