Purpose:

Assist the successful day-to-day operation of tennis programs for youth at assigned site including youth supervision and programming and the administrative and physical aspects of tennis lessons, coaching, drills and game play.

Location: CTP has multiple locations in all five boroughs of NYC, during the year

Rate: $18-$22

Start Date:

Fall Season: September to October

Winter Season: November to March

Spring Season: April to June

Summer Season: July to August

Times:

Fall Season: Times & Days vary, most locations are 3pm-6pm or Saturdays AM or PM (15-20 hours per week)

Winter Season: Usually on weekends (Saturday & Sunday), from 6am-9am, weekdays available on as needed basis

Spring Season: Times & Days vary, most locations are 3pm-6pm or Saturdays AM or PM (15-20 hours per week)

Summer Season: Times & Days vary, most locations are 9am - 12pm or 1pm – 4pm (15 to 30 hours per week)

Notes:

(1) For all seasons, coaches do NOT need to commit to all 5 weekdays or Saturdays

(2) NYJTL is flexible if coach has other commitments and can not work ALL seasons

Major Duties:

  • Reports to assigned site daily, on time, properly attired and ready to work
  • Apparel will be provided by NYJTL at no cost
  • Adheres to positive coaching philosophy motivating participants through encouragement and praise
  • Models polite, courteous and respectful behavior while interacting with program participants and staff
  • Assists in teaching and practice programs
  • Assists in court setup and court breakdown, including assisting to ensure cleanliness and safety
  • Facilitates and supervises matches including recording and reporting scores and results

Requirements:

  • High school degrees or equivalent, or current enrollment in high school
  • Successful completion of pre-employment basic tennis skills assessment
  • Completion of NYJTL or similar tennis coaching seminars (Provided)
  • Requires previous experience working with children in similar setting
  • USPTA/ PTR certification preferred but not required

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekend availability
