Technology Support Specialist Job at Harrington Family Health Center
Position Summary
The Technology Support Specialist’s role is to support effective operation and utilization of all technological systems, both hardward and software. The person in this role will provide regular maintance for all hardware and software and ensure software updates remain current. The person in this role will work with staff and vendors to troubleshoot equipment, end user software and software interfaces with the center’s Electronic Health Records (EHR). This role will require working as part of a team, ability to effectively and professionally communicate, in both oral and written format, with staff and vedors. This role will act as the leader in all technological based projects inclding but not limited to setting up new softwart interfaces, workstations and software programs. As the leader of these projects, this person will keep the management team updated on the status of these projects.
Essential Job Functions
· Maintain an accurate and complete list of technology equipment to include desktops, laptops, monitors, printers, copiers, scanners, chargers, docking stations, cords, etc.
· Sets up and move computer workstations
· Create and inactivate user accounts and permissions on the network and multiple software programs
· Ensure access and permissions are granted to authorized personnel only
· Develop reports and dashboards to assist leadership with the analysis of data used for strategic decision making and planning, utilization and costs, clinical outcomes, provider patterns and variations, trends and forecasting, and other data and informatics needs
· Collaborate with senior staff to advance the health center’s reporting capabilities and improve accuracy of data
· Determine opportunities and identify solutions to improve capabilities, efficiency and accuracies with in software
· Ensures the installation of updates and patches to HFHC software
· Take the lead on new software implementations, keeping leadership apprised of the status and progress of the project
· Maintains positive and effective relationships with software and IT vendors and acts as the point of contact
· Maintains interfaces with software and other organizations
· Contribute to processes improvement initiatives
· Attend staff and quality improvement meetings

§ Superior knowledge of computer hardware and software systems
§ Strong analytical and problem solving skills
§ Ability to work well with people of varying technological/computer skill levels
§ Ability to troubleshoot both hardware and software systems
§ Excellent written, oral and listening skills
§ Effective, appropriate and professional communication skills in written and verbal formats in both one-on-one and group settings
§ Proficient with word processing, data entry, data retrieval, reporting and analysis systems Including Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint
§ Ability to perform research in multiple media formats including internet based research
§ Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize and organize in a stressful and fast paced environment while also meeting deadlines
§ Ability to identify different computer components
§ Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
§ Self-motivated with the drive to improve processes to make them more effective and efficient
§ Maintain systems meeting all HFHC policies and procedures, as well as all State and Federal laws and regulations including HIPAA compliance
Education and Experience
§ Associates degree or equivalent work experience required
§ Strong knowledge of computers and other office equipment required
§ Prior work with EHR software and other health care related software preferred
Working Conditions/Physical Demands
§ Frequent physical activity requires standing and sitting
§ Periotic physical activity requires climbing stairs, bending, stooping, kneeling and crouching
§ Noise level at the general office level
§ Vision activities require close vision, ability to adjust focus and prolonged computer screen usage
§ Extended periods of computer usage requiring hand-eye coordination and finger dexterity
§ Exposure to communicable diseases and other conditions common in a medical practice setting
§ Extended periods of sitting with freedom to stand and move on a regular basis
§ Frequent lifting and/moving of up to 10 pounds with occasional lifting and/or moving of up to 25 pounds
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $24.04 per hour
