Burr and Burton Academy is seeking a full time Technology Support Specialist. Situated at the foot of Mt. Equinox and overlooking picturesque Manchester Village, Burr and Burton is an independent school that serves the public. Located in the green mountains in southern Vermont, Burr and Burton Academy has a proud tradition of educating students of diverse backgrounds and talents in a supportive and caring environment.

The Technology Support Specialist (TSS) helps the school develop, support, and analyze the technologies that undergird the school, allowing BBA to effectively deliver on its mission and vision in a 21st-century environment. Reporting to the Director of Technology, the TSS supports the software and hardware tools and assists in designing, developing, and maintaining efficient forward-looking workflows. The TSI provides direct support to faculty and students. This position requires knowledge, flexibility, empathy, and creative and critical thinking skills.

Technology Support Specialist duties will include:

• Support students and faculty with their devices and software.
• Frontline responder to helpdesk tickets.
• Manage the use of and the users of the school’s 3rd party cloud-based platforms used to manage various systems, including but not limited to Google Apps, Mosyle Manager, Apple School Manager, Aruba Central, Sonicwall, and Special Services Software.
• Develop and maintain tech support documentation.
• Manage the school’s 1:1 device program
• Demonstrate comfort and capability in supporting OSX, Windows, and iOS-based hardware, software, and peripherals in a 1:1 or 1:many environment.
• Troubleshoot device-level network issues.
• Empathize with the end-user to help evolve systems and solutions.
• Fulfill tech support duties as needed.
• Attend All School Assemblies.
• Pull off occasional light to moderate magic.
