Leidos has an exciting opportunity for a technically minded project lead with excellent communication and social skills to become the relationship manager for our external technology partnerships. The Technology Relationship Manager position reports directly to our CTO for external technology. We’re looking for an outgoing self-starter who can establish and manage relationships with technology developers, universities, and other companies as we seek to establish partnerships, cooperative research and development agreements (CRADAs), and cutting-edge technology development programs designed to enhance and maintain Leidos’ competitive posture as a global technology and services provider. Although this position is based primarily out of our Reston, VA corporate headquarters, remote work and travel opportunities are likely.
Primary Responsibilities:
The selected candidate will report directly to the CTO for External Technology and will be responsible for the following tasks:
Manage customer/partner relationships to achieve R&D goals and objectives
Negotiate agreements with potential R&D partners from industry and academia
Balance time between internal Leidos stakeholders and external partners
Support technical meetings and integrated product team events
Prepare briefings, contact reports, non-disclosure agreements, technical summaries, use cases, and other artifacts
Interface with technology leads to develop partnership/contact plans based on emerging IRAD objectives
Basic Qualifications:
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written, virtual and in-person, presentations/public speaking and one-on-one)
High social IQ and impeccable soft skills
Experience with cutting-edge technologies, Government contracts, and project management functions
Capable of working with minimal guidance to develop a call plan, establish new relationships, and execute partnering agreements for research and development programs
Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of relevant experience or an advanced degree and 6 years of experience
Ability to learn quickly through on-the-job exposure to new topics and ideas
Proficiency with modern business tools, including MS 365, Atlassian, and others
Ability to obtain a Public Trust security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience supporting research and development efforts for emerging technologies
Familiarity with AI Technology, Cybersecurity, and/or IT Modernization.
Experience initiating, developing, and managing corporate partnerships and relationships
Experience with a corporate IRAD team supporting large Government programs
Pay Range:
Pay Range $97,500.00 - $150,000.00 - $202,500.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
