TITLE: Elementary Computer Technology Support Specialist - Brecknock ES

SUMMARY OF PURPOSE
This position provides primary technical support for technology needs for repair, diagnostics, imaging, installation and maintenance of all mobile devices and computer hardware, software, and peripherals at Brecknock Elementary School and secondary support at all other elementary schools. The incumbent also provides assistance in supporting elementary network, VOIP, and audio/visual issues. This position is responsible for mobile device stability, application functionality, and for the upkeep of Brecknock networks for use by staff and students. The incumbent works with other members of the Technology Team in meeting department goals and objectives in support of the ELANCO mission.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Repairs technology equipment, primary technical support, and technical customer assistance for Brecknock elementary building and provides secondary technology support to all other elementary schools as needed.
2. Provides secondary support for the installation and maintenance for all of elementary network devices, applications, peripherals, elementary applications, audio/visual equipment, and VOIP telephone equipment.
3. Serves as point person for vendor maintenance to computer equipment at the elementary.
4. Implements and manages all district Chromebooks, applications, extensions, and Google User policy management.
5. Trains & creates user guides for elementary staff in proper utilization of technology.
6. Effectively communicates status of technical issues to affected individuals, technology team, and supervisors as appropriate.
7. Evaluates mobile device capabilities and makes appropriate recommendations.
8. Assists in the monitoring and maintenance of elementary computer network stability.
9. Serves as Google Administrator to include; creates all new staff user accounts, manages enrollment and organization of devices and reviews requested apps and extensions for security concerns.
10. Performs other functions as assigned by the Supervisor.

Marginal Functions will vary with the specific assignment and depend on the particular position function for which the person is responsible.
SCOPE AND IMPACT
This position works independently in the performance of the essential functions. Contacts include the district staff, students, teachers and outside vendors. This position has no supervisory responsibility.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
This position requires an Associate degree (A.A.) in computer science, other technical degree, or current industry (CompTIA/Microsoft) certifications + 3 years of computer technology experience or 6 years of related education/experience as a computer technology support specialist in a small to mid-sized Windows computer network environment. Bachelor's degree in technology field, prior K-12 experience, and two years of directly related experience preferred but not required.

SPECIAL SKILLS
This position requires computer hardware and software trouble shooting skills with a basic understanding of network architectures. Incumbent must be knowledgeable in MS Windows and Macintosh operating systems/g suite for education, Microsoft Office, active directory group policies, and computer management tools. Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential. Must be a team player, able to multi-task, prioritize, and work-well under pressure and working independently.

- Submission of a report of criminal history record from the Pennsylvania State Police (Section 111 of the Pennsylvania School Code)

- Submission of a clearance report from the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare in accordance with Act 151 of 1994.
