Job Description



This is your chance to make a BIG difference in the defense of our country. As a crucial member of our Qualis team of contractors, you develop and coordinate technical documentation for scientific defense testing compliant with stringent Government quality standards and tight deadlines. We’re a team of dedicated, mutually supportive and collaborative professionals focused on successfully achieving the mission of the U.S. Army’s Dugway Proving Ground, our nation's leading test center for Chemical and Biological Defense. The work is fast-paced, exciting, and indispensable. Currently this is a 90% teleworking position (subject to change).


Responsibilities


  • Compose, review, edit, revise, and correct requirement descriptions, justifications, impacts if not funded, execution plans, and cost estimates

  • Research and document requirements, existing capabilities, analysis of alternatives, return on investment, urgency of need, etc.

  • Prepare related Memoranda for Record, PowerPoint presentations, Excel spreadsheets, E-mail correspondence, white papers, etc.

  • Prepare technical studies and peer reviews of technology capabilities or test requirements

  • Work closely with government technical Points of Contact to review and edit technology requirements


  • Qualifications


    If you are the right person for this crucial position, you will:

  • Have a minimum of a BS in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Engineering or related science fields

  • Possess superior technical writing skills, communicating complex information to audiences of varied scientific backgrounds and understanding

  • Have experience with clear and concise technical writing especially with science-related technology or infrastructure requirements

  • Persuasively organize and convey technical concepts

  • Be able to rotate quickly between tasks with competing priorities or deadlines

  • Consistently meet aggressive deadlines

  • Be able to manage various personality types and demonstrate a customer service-first approach to interactions when working with engineers, scientists, and military personnel

  • Be able to diplomatically provide and receive critical feedback

  • Demonstrate competency with Microsoft Office to present data, create documents, and troubleshoot occasional MS Word issues

  • Be a fast learner and knowledgeable in testing, infrastructure, equipment, etc.

  • Have experience with database management, handling data files in Microsoft Excel, Word, etc.

  • Be able to present information and data to senior leadership

  • Be an independent self-starter


  • Desired Qualifications

  • Have experience in chemical/biological test and evaluation of defense equipment (desirable) and experience with database management (highly desirable)


  • Physical Demands and Working Conditions

  • The work of this position may be performed in an environmentally controlled office environment or in the outdoors of the test center

  • Must be capable of sitting and entering data on a computer keyboard for extended periods of time

  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds unassisted

  • Terms of Employment and Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

  • Be able to obtain and maintain an active Secret Security Clearance within 30 days of employment.

  • Must possess a valid Utah driver's license, without special restrictions
