RMC is hiring a Technical Writer to support our customer at Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Indian Head (Stump Neck). The selected applicant will assist with technical writing, technical editing, and quality control for ordnance identification guides, preliminary employment manuals, technical specifications, reports, presentations, training materials, and other technical documentation. The selected applicant will be expected to:

• Ensure that technical and visual information (graphics, tables, videos, thumbnails, and super thumbnails) adhere and conform to established writing, editing, and formatting standards.
• Coordinate and communicate frequently with Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Subject Matter Experts.
• Conduct independent research using various databases, websites, and repositories.
• Create, maintain, and update bibliographic material.
• Collaborate with colleagues and fellow technical writers to ensure consistency through the teams.
• Provide additional input and draft proposed changes or recommendations to improving writing standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in a technical, writing, or other related discipline, plus at least four (4) years of technical writing/editing experience. An Associate’s Degree and four (4) additional years of experience may be substituted for a degree.
• Security Clearance: An active DoD Secret clearance is required to start. Applicant selected may be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
• The selected candidate must be able to work independently, with minimal supervision or guidance from Subject Matter Experts.
