Technical Drafter Job at Cimarron Software
Cimarron is seeking experienced Drafter Designers to provide support to NASA at Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas.
Key Duties:
- Coordinate drawing requirement inputs and changes with design engineers and program manager.
- Produce drawings and documentation in accordance with established design and conforming to NASA drawing standards.
- Ensure electrical systems designs comply with all applicable installation codes, regulations, and standards.
Required Skills, Experience, and Education:
- Due to facility requirements, only U.S. Citizens are eligible for consideration at this time.
- Cimarron employees are required to follow federal, state, and local laws regarding COVID-19 practices, as well as customer requirements.
- Proficient experience in Microsoft Office Suite programs.
- Knowledge and application of NEC code and ANSI/IEEE Standards.
- Experience with Drafting Software such as AutoCAD, Revit and/or SketchUp.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work well with others and within a team.
- Ability to collaborate well with other disciplines.
- High School diploma or equivalent and 7 or more years of related design experience, or Associate’s degree and 3 or more years of related design experience.
Desired Skills, Experience, and Education:
- Experience with a 3D electrical model design platform.
- Knowledge of JSC Engineering Drawing System Manual.
- Knowledge of JSC Fabrication Tolerances and Practices.
- Review technical engineering documentation for completeness and accuracy.
- Work under limited supervision to validate completed product definition data to company and industry standards.
- Conduct drawing system and product structure research.
- Identify and incorporate improvements to existing process documentation (e.g., tip sheet, local work instructions).
