Technical Director
Geva Theatre Center, a LORT B regional leader in Western New York, seeks applicants for Technical Director. Working collaboratively with designers and other Production departments to deliver a final scenic product which meets industry standard safety practices, deadlines and budgetary parameters. Determining build costs from preliminary designs and generating build schedules and drawings. Leading all scene shop staff and over hires through the safe build, installation and disposal of all scenic elements through the course of our season. Regularly attend and participate in department meetings, production and design meetings. Maintain and manage scenic inventory and scene shop equipment. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, professional, positive with strong communication skills and have the following: 5+ years of technical theater experience, leadership skills with the ability to foster a communicative and collaborative work culture, working computer knowledge, including Autocad and Vectorworks, advanced knowledge of best practices for current construction and rigging techniques. Experience with stage automation is preferred. This position starts ASAP and is a full time, exempt position with benefits. Salary range is $51,000-$54,000.
