We serve the agricultural market with solutions in the areas of Adjuvants, Fertilizers, Precision applications, Soil Conditioners, Pesticides & Biocontrol agents - including Organics, Turf & Ornamental, Forestry, and others. Clariant's core competency in the agrochemical market is inert ingredients, co-formulants and specialties for in-can and tank-mix formulations along with providing formulation guidance and collaborations for solution-finding and co-development.
The Technical Applications Manager Americas will be focused on providing technical support to Crop Solutions customers through lab projects and services as well as in-person meetings. The position provides internal and customer project support and acts as an individual contributor on independent projects. This role is part of our Care Chemical's Business Unit and will support operations in North and South America.
Responsibilities
- You will spearhead cross-functional project teams (regional and global) for successful project completion
- Actively participate in the design, implementation, data analysis, interpretation and presentation of lab and field trials results
- You will be responsible for driving strategic innovation and sustainability process towards the development of new co-formulants, tank mix adjuvants and additives for all areas in Crop
- You will keep abreast of customer needs, scientific and patent literature, market trends and drivers to anticipate new applications, formulations, and product solutions
- Respond effectively and timely to technical support issues as key technical contact for crop solutions customers and prospects
- You should work actively with global competence center to evaluate and develop products and projects for selected areas of interest
- Contribute to development and implementation of technology, patent, and innovation strategies
- Responsible for designing and implementing technical service concept within current team set-up, boosting our customer centricity focus and leveraging overall team´s knowledge about main customer and markets
- An integral part of this role will be to ensure an effective organization structure to support business targets and critical processes by directing the technical team in the America’s region to meet business and customer objectives
- Foster technical networking and maintain relationships to external customers and the market through select customer visits
- Interact and communicate with the Global Crop Competence Center, Americas commercial, marketing, and technical colleagues, meeting project timelines and customer technical needs
- This role has a significant input into the planning, execution and review of the Crop Solutions business line strategy for the region; you should actively contribute to the development of external Crop Solutions product documentation for the region
Requirements
- You have completed Bachelor's Degree (Chemistry or related science preferred) at minimum with demonstrable experience with agricultural formulating, minimum of 5 years of experience
- Masters or PhD preferred
- Developed experience with agricultural formulating in multiple formulation types (SL, SC, EW, SE, and others) for herbicides, insecticides, fungicides, plant nutritional
- Experience with pesticide distribution regulations (for R&D receiving/shipping) and of segment CIPAC & ASTM test methods
- Shown to be effective in managing multiple projects and competing priorities
- Desire to improve and solve customer formulation objectives, using strong listening, analytical, creativity, problem solving and innovative thinking skills
- Experienced in managing multicultural teams in a hybrid/remote working system
- Language fluency in English, fluency is Spanish is desired
- Must be willing and able to travel up to 30%
