Position Responsibilities:

  • Ensures completion of daily activities for assigned responsibilities.
  • Act as a guide for co-workers and promoting desired practices and standards.
  • Implements and monitors the orientation program within the respective team. Training other employees in assigned responsibilities, making sure the respective policies are followed.
  • Provides the supervisor with input on the employee's performance in a timely manner.
  • Establishes and maintains effective interpersonal relationships with coworkers and management staff. Assists the Supervisor/Manager in resolving staff
  • Supports the Supervisor or Manager's communication initiative. Informs team of any departmental and/or hospital news, updates, issues, requests, general situations, etc.
  • Promotes professional development and motivates staff.
  • Keeps track of departmental occurrences as required.
  • Follows Patient Safety goals as established by the department; supports effective responses to adverse and sentinel events; provides an on-going proactive approach to reduce risk; integrates patient safety as a priority into new and existing processes.
  • Is available to participate as a member of either Team A or Team B of the Hurricane Activation Plan, as assigned.
  • Reports incidents to manager and Risk Management department within required timeframe in accordance with medical center policy.
  • Complies with current Hospital security and safety polices & All other tasks assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

High school graduate or equivalent level of training. Some college preferred.

One year practical experience in computer usage. Seven years' practical experience in registration, collections and insurance verifications.
