Position Title: Warehouse Team Lead
Location: Pataskala, OH
Shifts: B Shift (Wednesday-Saturday, 6a-4:30p)
Reports to: Operations Supervisor
Under minimal supervision, the Warehouse Team Lead works with Operations Supervisor to ensure superior execution of the Distribution Center’s mission of providing on time, accurate and efficient delivery of merchandise to YCC customers. Acts as the primary point person on the floor for employees and ensures that they are following Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and working in compliance with standards within the department, at the same time maintaining a safe work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assigns and directs the workflow of employees within assigned warehouse functional area/department.
- Provides training, coaching and direction regarding departmental processes and procedures. Monitors new and veteran Employee’ acquired skills and reports any continued lapse of established department goals and/or overall performance to the manager for action. Monitors employee error trends.
- Monitors productivity, accuracy and utilization of employees with direction and support from the leadership team. Provides updates and solutions to the leadership team. Updates teamm and recommends solutions regarding issues on the floor impacting warehousing functions and/or employees. Takes initiative and implements solutions in the absence of the supervisor or in an emergency situation.
- Tracks/monitors/maintains/reinforces daily, weekly and monthly performance goals and objectives approved and assigned by management. With the direction and support from the leadership team, facilitates the achievement of departments’ goals and objectives.
- Provides excellent on-time customer service to internal/external customers. Demonstrate an overall positive and productive environment amongst employees and protects the integrity of privileged information shared in confidence.
- Analyzes warehouse processes and makes recommendations for continuous improvement. Maintains methods and procedures documentation for enhancement, as well as recommendations of “best practices”.
- Operates a clean and safe work environment, ensuring that all areas of the warehouse are well maintained, kept orderly and free of debris
- Works safely in order to help preserve the safety and health of coworkers, guests and visitors as well as their own. Follows all Company safety/accident policies and procedures and adheres to all applicable safety laws and regulations. Notifies management promptly of any safety hazards/violations or accidents/injuries. Participates in safety training. Properly uses and maintains Personal Protective Equipment. Encourages employees to follow all safety procedures.
- Operate PIT (Powered Industrial Trucks) as necessary
- Perform other duties as assigned
Key Qualifications:
- 2 years in a warehouse environment
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively
- Basic arithmetic skills with strong attention to detail
- Ability to interact well with all levels of employees
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to lead employees
- Ability to analyze warehouse processes and make recommendations for improvement
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Attentive to detail
- Good planning and time management skills
- Demonstrated ability to deal with complexities and deadlines
- Knowledge of office and logistics software.
- Must Pass Background Check and Drug Screen
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
- Prior experience with forklift (Cherry Picker & Reach Truck). If no prior experience you must be open to learning to be PIT (Powered Industrial Truck) certified for forklift
Preferred Qualifications:
- 6 months previous experience in a lead role
- Maintain flexibility with changes in work hours

- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and depth perception
