JOB SUMMARY:

Assists production supervisor as a leader in a specific area in Operations in the coordination of activities of department workers by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (Other duties may be assigned)

  • Responsible for leading and directing manufacturing teams.
  • SQDC (Safety-Quality-Delivery-Cost) and Lean responsiveness
  • Monitors productivity throughout the shift to ensure production goals are met daily.
  • Lead the sustainability of continuous improvementStandard Work

Small lot presentation to the line

  • Interprets company policies.
  • Recommends and implements measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  • Performs activities of workers in group as a backup only.
  • Execute on Daily start-up plan.
  • Responsible for implementing cross-functional training.
  • Assure that hourly performance boards are maintained with input and variance causes, inclusive of all visual display boards.
  • Coordinate material scheduling and staging to assure no shortages to the lines.
  • Maintain 6S throughout the shift and Operator PM checklists maintenance is updated / followed on prescribe frequency
  • Implement and sustain Standard work procedures and practices as a Key activity-also sustain Visual Boards and Controls.
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems.
  • Maintain efficiency levels to 90% or better.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the minimum knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education:

High school diploma or GED, trade school or college level work or associate degree

Experience:

Over 3 years experience in manufacturing or pertinent field preferred ---previous leadership role (s) a plus

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

N/A

Computer Skills:

Basic computer experience with MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook, basic AS400 software computer or similar system knowledge.

Mathematical Abilities:

Basic math skills. Statistics a plus

Analytical or Reasoning Abilities:

Ability to read and analyze data – problem-solving

Communication Skills: (Writing, Foreign Language, Reasoning)

Effective communication skills written and oral in English and Spanish (preferred)

Other Skills (Technical, or Other special knowledge and abilities)

Blueprint reading and interpreting simple electrical wiring diagrams are a plus.

Team-oriented individual, flexible, and adaptable to a continuous improvement environment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: (The physical demands and work environment described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Must be able to lift/pull/push 50 lbs. up to 50 % of the shift.
  • Must be able to stand/walk/bend/twist for prolonged periods of up to 10 hours/day as needed per production area.
  • Ability to make repetitive motions on the machine up to 40 % of the shift

  • Work is on the manufacturing floor interfacing with employees, and inspectors, monitoring and retrieving information.

Shop floor environment is not controlled. Temperatures vary and conditions may be hot or cold.

Salary Range : $19.00 - $23.00
