Floater Teacher

The Goddard School of Toms River Route 70 is seeking a Floater/Assistant Teacher. Full and Part-time shifts available. A Floater/Assistant Teacher at The Goddard School is responsible for helping to establish and maintain a safe, healthy and nurturing learning environment. Additionally, a Floater/Assistant Teacher is responsible for working with a Lead Teacher and in conjunction with the entire faculty. The ideal candidate must be able to work Monday-Friday and have a minimum of 1 year of experience working in a childcare center setting. Requirements:

-Must be 18 years or older

-HS Diploma or equivalent required

-Minimum of 1 year of childcare experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

• the ability to interact closely with children at their level;
• the ability to keep children within sight and sound supervision at all times;
• the ability to change children’s diapers and/or assist in toileting (where necessary);
• the ability to understand and comply with the franchisee’s employment policies;
• the ability to communicate effectively and professionally with school personnel, children and parents;
• the ability to handle crisis situations, including assisting in evacuating the building during emergencies; and
• the ability to comply in all respects with all applicable laws and regulations relating to childcare.

• the ability to remain flexible and work together toward a common goal
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations. For Infant and Young Toddler Teachers, must be able to properly lift infants into and out of a crib

Qualifications

• High school diploma required
• Associate or Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred
• Child Development Associate (CDA) preferred
