Experienced Tax Preparer and Acccountant
Accounting firm with offices in Middletown, NJ and Parsippany, NJ seeks an experienced accountant to join our team. An ideal candidate would be able to work independently, communicate directly with clients, and prepare complex tax returns. This is an ideal position for a professional that seeks to balance both their career and family.

20-25 hours per week with a flexible schedule on a year-round basis. Some extra hours possible during tax season.

Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of tax and accounting experience. Knowledge of UltraTax CS is preferred

Principal Duties / Major Responsibilities:

• Prepare complex tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations and trusts with multi-state reporting requirements
• Perform tax research for complicated client tax issues
• Bookkeeping for monthly, quarterly and annual accounting clients using QuickBooks
• Analyze and reconcile client general ledger accounts
• Assist audit team with audit testing and workpaper preparation
• Provide clerical and administrative support, as needed

Knowledge, Skill and Other Requirements:

• Proficiency with UltraTax, QuickBooks, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
• Knowledge of and ability to interpret tax rules and regulations
• Ability to occasionally travel to client locations within New Jersey and New York
• Ability to service multiple client engagements simultaneously
• Good time management and organizational skills

Experience:

• Tax: 5 years (Required)
• Accounting / Auditing: 3 years (Preferred)

Education:

• Bachelors in Accounting or similar degree
• CPA license or candidate (preferred)

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
