Talented and Gifted Teacher Job at Teach Iowa
The Adel DeSoto Minburn Community School District is seeking a highly motivated, quality applicant to work as a K-6 Gifted and Talented instructor beginning the 2022-23 school year. ADM is located on the edge of the Des Moines metropolitan area, about a 10 minute drive from the western suburbs.
The Gifted and Talented position will serve elementary and intermediate students. ADM elementary and intermediate buildings are progressive, highly collaborative, and dedicated to supporting the needs of every learner.
The Gifted and Talented Program at ADM strives to provide challenging and engaging learning experiences and opportunities for growth that enable all children with high intelligence, talent, and exceptional capacity to develop to their potential. Our mission is to serve gifted, talented, and creative children. Gifted and talented children have the potential to perform at remarkably high levels for their age, experience, or environment.
Candidates must lead with humility and strive for continued improvement. Applicants must be highly collaborative and able to analyze student achievement data to make instructional decisions. The ADM staff is committed to the Professional Learning Community model and this position would require a dedication to collaborative teaming and student achievement. The ideal candidate would possess a passion for student achievement and emotional wellbeing and strive for continued instructional improvement.
Primary roles of this teacher include:
- provide K-6 extended learning supports
- work in an effective PLC with other ADM Gifted and Talented teachers
- collaborate with general education staff to support student needs
- support the Gifted and Talented identification process
- coordinate Personal Education Plans for identified students
- engage in the TAG Self-Audit process
The ideal candidate would possess an ELP/TAG endorsement, have teaching experience, use best practices in math, science and literacy instruction, and have experience with technology integration. Candidates must demonstrate a passion for working with gifted learners and be a humble individual. Applicants must be highly collaborative and able to analyze student achievement data to make instructional decisions. The ADM staff uses the Professional Learning Community model.
