Talent Acquisition Specialist - Content Team Job at SuperSummary

SuperSummary Remote

SuperSummary, a publisher of literature study guides and educational content, is looking for an experienced Talent Acquisition Specialist to help us rapidly and substantially expand our Content Team on a contractual basis. In addition to recruiting dozens of freelance writers and editors, the Talent Acquisition Specialist will evaluate our recruitment practices, recommend and implement improvements, and develop a system for tracking and reporting on the impact of these initiatives.

To meet our ambitious writer/editor hiring goals in the first quarter of 2023, we are looking to fill an immediate need for a project period of approximately 3 months. Following the successful execution of this project, there is the possibility of establishing a longer-term and broader-scale relationship with SuperSummary. Initial Projects

  • Lead an initiative to hire both freelance study guide writers & editors in the first quarter of 2023

  • Ideate and implement recruitment process experiments and improvements to support our Content Team hiring goals

  • Build analytics and KPIs to assess, analyze, and report on recruitment and retention initiatives


Potential Responsibilities

  • Lead recruiting efforts for the entire Content Team

  • Participate in the selection process, including pre-screening application materials and candidates and hosting candidate screenings and/or interviews; drive the offer process for qualified candidates

  • Manage all communications to ensure consistent messaging with candidates and hires

  • Support new hire onboarding by developing checklists, tools, and other required resources

  • Spearhead strategic recruitment improvement projects, such establishing relationships with recruitment sources and testing new platforms or recruitment processes

  • Work closely with management and key personnel to develop successful candidate profiles and personas

  • Set recruitment and interview standards across the Content Team, and provide training on best practices to hiring managers and recruitment coordinator(s)

  • Define success metrics and KPIs to assess, analyze, and report on recruitment and retention initiatives

  • Measure recruitment efforts and project progress and share via weekly and monthly reports

  • Oversee the aggregation of cohort retention data and analyze insights to better inform strategic professional development efforts and retainment strategies

  • Cultivate and support employee engagement initiatives aimed at improved satisfaction, loyalty, and sense of community


The ideal candidate is someone with experience building a robust Content Team who can utilize this expertise to ideate, validate, and execute various recruitment initiatives to determine how SuperSummary can recruit and retain its best Content Team members. You’re the right fit if you have a passion for literature and education, a desire to fine-tune and constantly improve processes, and experience building teams from the ground up. You can dig into data to make informed decisions and are brimming with ideas that will help us expand our Content Team of writers and editors.



Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in English, Education, HR, Organizational Development/Design, or another related field

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in talent acquisition, recruitment, or in another HR role with significant exposure to the aforementioned

  • Experience building and/or expanding large teams; experience building content teams (writers, editors, etc.) is a huge plus

  • A dedication to creative problem-solving and innovative thinking

  • A high comfort level with setting, tracking, and reporting key performance indicators and a willingness to analyze data across teams and processes and extrapolate insights from that analysis


Time Commitment & Team Structure

The weekly time commitment is approximately 20–30 hours per week over 3 months, with the possibility of extension and expansion of the role. The Talent Acquisition Specialist will be required to attend—via Zoom, during business hours—both weekly and monthly meetings to report on progress.

The Talent Acquisition Specialist will work under the direct supervision of the Content Operations Manager.
