As the Systems Security Engineer, you will be joining a growing team that is working on exciting and highly visible projects for our Department of the Treasury customers. You will be responsible for providing support to the development of the macro-level architectural security solutions of a multi-cloud hybrid infrastructure. You will be supporting the customer with their Risk Management Framework (RMF), developing and maintain System Security Plans, and supporting the implementation of NIST security controls.

Program Mission

The project you will be working on is to establish cloud-based architectures, based upon business requirements, for cloud migration while maintaining architectural best practices. This role requires a candidate to have strong knowledge and hands-on experience building enterprise-level information assurance (IA) and security-enabling frameworks for a large-scale, complex, and distributed system. This project features a strategic team whose members are co-located with the customer, primarily in the Washington, DC area, and support a culture of continuous improvement.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience providing Enterprise-level Platform Security, Cybersecurity and/or Information Assurance.
  • Experience with addressing security requirements/needs at an application program level and identifying, documenting, and implementing required processes and procedures to satisfy cybersecurity requirements/needs.
  • Experience preparing Policy and System Security Plan documentation for Cloud systems to achieve an Authority to Operate (ATO).
  • Experience with Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Authority to Operate (ATO) guidelines, processes, and procedures.
  • Experience with NIST security controls.

Desired Skills:

  • Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), GIAC Security Leadership Certificate (GSLC).
  • Hands on experience implementing controls to secure infrastructure and applications in AWS and Azure.
  • Identity, Credential, and Access Management (ICAM) knowledge and experience.
  • At least two (2) examples of successfully leading the development of security strategy for any (DoD or non-DoD) large-scale, complex, and distributed system deployment into the cloud.

Years of Experience: 8+ relevant years of experience

Education: Bachelors in a Technical Discipline – Computer Science, Mathematics, or equivalent technical degree (Desired not required)
