IT Systems Administrator (Microsoft)
We are looking for hands-on, tech savvy systems administrator who is self-motivated and is an exceptional problem solver. He/she will be part of a small, fun team of highly capable individuals spread out across the country; will be involved with developing and maintaining the company’s Information Technology (IT) infrastructure. He/she will provide high level end user support and implement processes to improve system uptime. He/she will guide and develop Help Desk Analysts while providing support to Level 3 Engineers with projects.
Daily Responsibilities
- Monitoring and maintaining servers, resolving technical problems, and ensuring network systems are operating efficiently.
- Administering and maintaining all aspects of Active Directory.
- Coordinating, administering, and maintaining responsibility for assigned systems including network security, e-mail servers, FTP and web servers, and administrative/monitoring tools.
- Performing server system administration and performance functions.
- Assisting Level 1 staff in resolving the more complex network, workstation, and system problems; and assisting other departments with tasks that require a server and/or server-side configurations.
- Participating in the inventory management of software licenses, software, hardware and other IT supplies.
- Strong verbal/written communication, with ability to effectively interact with individuals at all levels of responsibility and authority.
- Onboarding and offboarding users.
- Imaging laptops and desktops with SCCM and Intune AutoPilot
- Identify problems that need escalation, gather facts, and escalate to Level 3 team appropriately.
- Support the roll-out of end-user software and systems management tools.
Essential Technologies
- Windows desktop support including in-depth Windows 11 and Office 365 knowledge
- Solid knowledge of TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, Active Directory, Group Policies, cloud computing (Microsoft Azure), Microsoft Intune (Endpoint Manager) and networking
- Must have the ability to document trouble tickets, processes, and procedures
- Configuring a variety of devices including desktops, laptops, iPhone/Android and printers
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple assignments
- Must be a self-starter, quick learner, flexible, and detail-oriented
- Knowledge of Microsoft Teams and VoIP Services including voice policy management and administration preferred
- Powershell and Scripting knowledge preferred
- Linux knowledge preferred
- Azure IaaS related experience is preferred
- Experience supporting Linux is preferred
- Experience with ticketing systems
- Experience with Microsoft Teams and Teams VoIP
- Experience with Automate, Job Router preferred
- Experience with Core Azure Infrastructure technologies including any of the following:
- Azure Virtual Desktop
- Azure Virtual Machines
- Microsoft EndPoint Protection
- Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Intune)
- Device & Policy Management
- AutoPilot Deployment
- Apps Management
- Azure Identity experience preferred, including any of the following: Azure AD, PIM, Conditional Access, MFA, Azure AD Connect, Password less sign-ins
- Windows networking technologies and use of diagnostic tools such as Wire Shark or Network Monitor to identify and troubleshoot communication issues
- Knowledge of Microsoft Teams and VoIP Services including voice policy management and administration
- Powershell and Scripting knowledge preferred
Travel
Occasional travel to locations in Hudson, NH and Lindenhurst, NY.
Certifications
- Microsoft 365 Certified: Fundamentals preferred
