Job Summary

Predictive Oncology is very technology dependent. The IT department supports the complex science that we do every day to help support the mission of the organization. We are seeking an experienced systems administrator who is passionate about applying their skills and expertise to a technology driven business. The Predictive Oncology IT department is located at the Pittsburgh location, which is in Lawrenceville, PA. Due to the collaborative nature of this position, this position is on-site. The position scope is to provide effective software and hardware support and ongoing maintenance to the organization including desktop, server, cloud, and networking infrastructure. The organizational need is to ensure that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to company policies and procedures. The focus is on internal customer support, together with ongoing and continued improvements to IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate must be able to take on challenging assignments and see them through to completion and take responsibility for the results.

General Functions

Primary

  • Install and configure OS and software on company equipment including but not limited to laptops and desktops.
  • Assist end users by resolving, communicating, and documenting reported issues.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, recover and document hardware and software failures.
  • Manage the company cloud and virtualized server infrastructure at a virtual colocation and Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Test, apply and monitor OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis to all IT infrastructure as necessary.
  • Monitor backup operations across all IT systems.
  • Ensure standard operating procedures are created and maintained to assure consistent performance of IT-related activities.
  • Recommend solutions, process changes and improvements to business and operational processes in accordance with established change management policies and procedures.
  • Participate in IT-related projects as requested serving as technical expert by sharing knowledge, training, and assisting others.
  • Learn and assist in the support of third-party applications that are in use across the company.

Experience:

· 5-7 years of proven success in an IT role

· Familiarity with:

o Microsoft Windows desktop and server OS.

o IP Networking, DHCP, DNS, network installation, setup, and monitoring Cisco® Meraki routers/security Appliances, switches, VoIP, firewalls.

o Wireless (802.11X) networks.

o Working Knowledge of AWS (Amazon Web services) and demonstrated capability to create, deploy, monitor, and maintain cloud resources at AWS.

o Linux based OS, web servers and services (Apache Tomcat™, etc.)

o Microsoft Office 365 application administration and support.

o Security management and patching.

o Virus and spyware prevention and removal.

o Desktop and server administration & troubleshooting

· Demonstrated skill in troubleshooting and mitigating network and system problems.

Education:

· Bachelor’s or associate degree with a major in computer science, engineering, information science, or equivalent demonstrated experience in the IT domain.
