Salary Grade: Based on certification placement on salary schedule
Length of Work Year: 190
Summary Description of Classification: Under direction of the Director of Social Services and Director of Special Education , plans and provides for a continuity of educational services between the classroom, home or hospital for students who have circumstances that do not allow them to attend school.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:
Knowledge of GPS curriculum, techniques for integrating curriculum, Bibb County BOE policies, and effective instructional practices. Understanding of the teaching/learning process. Ability to provide instruction that reflects multiple perspectives and multicultural education. Ability to infuse technology into curriculum. Ability to work effectively with administrators, colleagues, central office and school based staff, students, parents and community. Respect for diversity in education. Excellent oral and written communication along with strong human relations skills.
Education, Training and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in applicable field of education from an accredited college or university and meet the GAPSC requirements for certification
Certificate and License Requirements:
Meets Georgia state certification requirements in appropriate field of education and valid Georgia State driver’s license

General Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Follows professional practices consistent with school and system policies in working with students, students’ record, parents and colleagues.
2. Interacts in a professional manner with students and parents.
3. Is available to students and parents for conferences according to system policies.
4. Facilitates home-school communication by such means as holding conferences, telephoning and sending written communications.
5. Maintains confidentiality of students and student’ records.
6. Works cooperatively with school administrators, special support personnel, colleagues and
parents.
7. Complies with school, system and state administrative regulations and board of education
policies.
8. Conducts assigned classes at the times scheduled
9. Enforces regulations concerning student conduct and discipline
10. Is punctual
11. Provides adequate information, plans and materials for substitute teacher
12. Maintain accurate, complete and appropriate records and files report promptly
13. Attends and participates in faculty meetings and other assigned meetings and activities according
to school policy.
14. Complies with condition as stated in contract
15. Demonstrates professional practices in teaching
16. Models correct use of language, oral and written
17. Demonstrates accurate and up-to-date knowledge of content
18. Implements designated curriculum
19. Maintains lesson plans as required by school policy
