Leech Industries is seeking a Machinist – Surface Grinder. The position will be part of a team of dedicated people that operate in our manufacturing tool room, producing high quality parts for our worldwide customers.

Job Key Activities and Performance Indicators:

• The responsibilities of this position will include surface grinding of customer parts and support tooling for our production departments to required specifications.
• Ability to use good set up techniques to produce complex parts accurately is needed.
• Must be able to confidently read blueprints and inspect parts to those requirements.
• Candidate must be comfortable working in an industrial environment.
• Attention to detail is key.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
• Collaborate with other production teams, as appropriate, for support in meeting customer delivery commitments.
• Responsible for working with team members to obtain a goal of 100% on time delivery performance with quality products and services for all our customers.

This position will report to the Manufacturing department Supervisor and works closely with other manufacturing team members and quality team to ensure that parts produced meet our rigorous customer quality requirements. Interacts with other Departments such as: Maintenance, plastics, stampings, purchasing and accounting.

Education and Experience:

• High School diploma or GED
• Previous Surface Grinding experience is required (5 years minimum)
• Previous other machining experience a definite plus

Skills and Competencies:

• Dependable and can-do attitude required.
• Reliable transportation to be at work on schedule.
• Ability to speak, read and write English required.
