DEPARTMENT: Tulalip Police Department
JOB SUMMARY: The Director-Support Services Bureau position will be a member of the department Command Staff and is responsible to manage and uphold the Tulalip Police Department’s mission and values; assist the Police Chief in leading the day-to-day operations of the Support Bureau and assist the Police Chief in the implementation of goals, policies, procedures, and standards for the Police Department. The role of the Director-Support Services Bureau is to manage, direct and coordinate the activities of the Support Services Bureau of the Police Department which includes but is not limited to; Administrative Support Unit; Support Services Unit; Training Unit, and Program Manager Unit. Provides the leadership, management and vision necessary to ensure that the Support Bureau of the Tulalip Tribal Police Department has sufficient internal controls, policy and procedures as well as resources in place to ensure financial and operational efficiencies and integrity.

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Public Administration, Criminology, Business, or related field. * Relevant Experience may substitute for degree requirement on a year-for-year basis.
- Master’s Degree is preferred.
MINIMUM RELATED EXPERIENCE
- Seven (7) years of Management experience with extensive administrative responsibility.
- Five (5) years’ experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
- Two (2) years of relevant managerial or command staff experience in a law enforcement agency (sworn or civilian).
- Experience with public speaking, presenting to groups in a professional setting.
- Demonstrated work experience in Tribal government, assisting the public, youth services, customer service, security, problem solving, is preferred.

REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS/PREREQUISITES
- Must be an enrolled Tulalip Tribal Member.
- Must have current First Aid and CPR certifications. *will allow six (6) months from start date to obtain.
- WA State Driver’s License.
- Must adhere to the Motor Vehicle Regulations. (Abstract Required)
- ACCESS/CJIS Certification required. *will allow six (6) months from start date to obtain.
- Pass all in-service Training administered by the Department.
- Must pass all pre-employment TPD Police Background Investigation, Polygraph, and Psychological examination.
- Must completely fill out the Tulalip Police Department Personal History Packet.
- Must not have been arrested for, or convicted of, any financial crimes or crimes of violence of which any disposition exists accept not guilty.
- Must not have been convicted of any felony crime or been convicted of domestic violence.
- Must disclose any use, possession, or sale of any illegal drugs during lifetime. Applicant’s drug use will be assessed by TPD.
- An applicant’s Employment history and credit history will be assessed by TPD and any related decision-making issues may be grounds for disqualification
- The Tulalip Tribes requires different levels of pre-employment background screening for all positions. Employment is contingent upon successful passing the Tulalip Police Department Background check.
- Applicant’s qualifications and suitability will be assessed by the Chief of Police for hire.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: This is a regular Full-Time position.
