JOB SUMMARY:
The Supply Chain Risk Management team will work cross-functionally to collaborate and communicate daily with the Supply Chain Execution team and the Core Functions (Central Planning, Strategic Sourcing, and Engineering). This team will lead proactive supply chain risk identification and mitigation to improve supply continuity, while delivering strong performance to Build and Ship SIOP, Financial Forecasts and Cost, Quality and Delivery metrics.
As a Supply Chain Risk Manager you will be responsible for developing strategy and implementing standard work to identify and resolve issues that are negatively impacting Polaris’ supply chain. You will work closely with the Supply Chain Execution team and other internal functions to understand true root causes of issues, develop and implement countermeasures, and track and report progress to our Global Operations teams and Business Units. In addition to responding to unforeseen supply issues and mitigating their effects, you will also use the Supplier Risk Index to proactively identify and address potential supply chain risks before they disrupt our operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assist in developing standard tools, metrics and processes to accomplish supply chain recovery objectives
  • Implement standard tools and processes to drive supply chain performance improvements
  • Utilize lean methodologies to identify and countermeasure root causes of supply chain interruptions
  • Directly and indirectly lead team of cross-functional resources to improve supply chain performance
  • Drive standard meeting cadence and action register reviews with suppliers who are escalated to Supply Chain Risk Management teams
  • Evaluate supplier forward looking capacity vs Polaris demand, identify issues and develop and implement countermeasures
  • Utilize existing metrics and develop additional metrics to communicate progress made in reducing supply chain disruptions
  • Regularly report progress to Supply Chain Recovery Steering Team, Global Operations and BU leadership
  • Manage emerging issues with suppliers and communicate countermeasures and recovery timelines to key stakeholders throughout the organization
  • Act as an escalated presence with suppliers, striking appropriate tone to drive urgency while also maintaining and growing strong partnerships

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
  • Bachelors degree in Operations, Engineering, Business or similar field
  • 8+ years of purchasing or relevant experience (sales, engineering, etc.)
  • 2+ years of direct leadership experience preferred or an experienced or proven leader who has the demonstrated ability to build effective departmental and cross-functional teams
  • Cross-functional project management and/or commodity management experience required
  • Demonstrates excellent project management and communication skills and capable of managing cross-functional teams on a matrix organizational basis. The ability to manage complex projects across multiple departments, sites, and companies serving a variety of diverse needs
  • Knowledge of commodity/category management, purchasing contracts, purchasing practices and internet-based purchasing and/or New Product Introduction/Gate process desired
  • Value analysis ability: the ability to analyze a system or sub-system in terms of operational and financial performance, identify improvement opportunities, and develop comprehensive plans to attain improvements
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects with tight deadlines and firm schedules
  • Ability to embrace a rapidly changing environment and pivot quickly on priorities
  • Ability to understand data structure and develop queries to facilitate metrics development and reporting
  • Excellent ability to manage by influence; able to inspire and guide team members
  • Outstanding interpersonal communication skills (both oral and written) at all levels, including Sr. Executives
  • Decisive and prone to action
  • Quality-oriented, customer-focused and driven to succeed
  • Strong process orientation with general understanding of Lean Principles such as value stream mapping, kaizen 5S, standard work, etc.
  • Experienced in presentation abilities, including PowerPoint development. Expected to present to operations leadership and executive leadership

WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Fast-paced, dynamic culture in office or remote environment
  • Position can be based out of any North American Polaris facility, or remote with ability to travel on short notice to support team activities
  • Up to 30% travel throughout the year, both domestic and international
