Position Overview
The Maintenance Supervisor, under the direction, and reporting directly to the Plant Engineer, is responsible for personnel, training, and hands-on support of assigned maintenance technicians. The supervisor participates on a team to diagnose equipment breakdowns and minimize downtime by performing duties personally or through subordinate staff.

- Organize all necessary parts and equipment and recommend parts to purchase.
- Monitor employees' work levels and review work performance.
- Counsel employees about work-related issues and assist employees to correct job-skill deficiencies.
- Conduct or arrange for worker training in safety, repair, and maintenance techniques.
- Communicate effectively with peers, supervisors, and subordinates.
- Must be qualified to wear a respirator.
- Embrace site safety culture and improve current behaviors and systems.

- Establish maintenance quality programs such as new equipment reliability and installation standards.
- Involvement in the evaluation and selection of new maintenance employees.
- Supervise maintenance technicians in a 24/5 operation.
Required Education & Experience
- At least 3 years of experience in a maintenance supervisory role.
- Strong mechanical/electrical skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Process Safety Management Systems experience.
- HAZWOPER
- Two/Four-year technical degree or equivalent experience
Minimum Qualifications

- Experience in any or all of the following areas is a plus: vertical/horizontal milling equipment, mechanical/electrical troubleshooting, filling/packaging equipment, pumping/mixing equipment, welding, vibration analysis, precision coupling alignment, motor circuit analysis, infrared scanning, PLC’s.
Preferred Experience
- Experience working in a warehouse environment (e.g., product storage, product staging, forklifts, etc.).
- Experience leading a team
- Experience utilizing inventory control tools (e.g. scan guns, computers)
- Detail oriented in quantities, destinations, and routings.
- Inspection of shipments for damage or defect, accurately record and notify
Essential Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is asked to sit, stand and /or walk on wet or dusty surfaces. Must be able to reach overhead, reach across midline, work with and/or handle hand, power, pneumatic and press-fit tools, as well as welding equipment. Must be able to grasp, pinch and perform fine manipulation work with hands. Must be able to kneel, squat/crouch, balance, bend and stoop at the waist while performing various work tasks. Must be able to climb and descend stairs, ladders and work in awkward positions. Must be able to work in close quarters, and in proximity to moving mechanical parts. The employee must be able to occasionally lift and/or move 75 pounds from floor to waist, 50 pounds from floor to shoulder height, and lift or move 30 pounds from floor to an overhead position. Occasionally an employee may have to lift/slide 100 pounds from the pump set up to a cart or floor to pump pad position.
