We are looking for enthusiastic, attentive camp assistants to lead, support, and motivate campers as they enjoy all that the camp has to offer. The camp assistants will help lead group events, monitor campers and respond to incidents, such as behavioral problems or accidents, log events and maintain records relating to activities, and discuss concerns with program directors. You should be positive, proactive, and caring while focusing on giving campers a fun, safe camp experience.
You should be upbeat, decisive, and responsible. You should also be organized and possess strong leadership skills.

Requirements
- Basic understanding of childhood development and methods used to instruct children of various ages
- Ability to communicate with teacher's assistant and parents regarding student's behavior in the classroom
- Strong organizational skills are essential to prepare materials for planned daily lessons
- Basic writing, math and science skills are needed to aid students in homework
- Ability to manage potentially challenging behavior from students and maintain a professional and patient demeanor
- Experience supporting positive relationships with children and adults in a learning environment
- Complete all mandatory trainings as set forth by Virginia Department of Social Services
