Sub Cook - Milnor, Enderlin & Lisbon Job at Valley Senior Services
This position is responsible for preparing and serving the meal according to the menu plan in a timely manner, while maintaining a cleanly kitchen and serving area. This position will be at either our Milnor, Enderlin, and/or Lisbon Senior Centers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Evaluation of this position is based primarily on performance of the following essential functions, which include, but are not limited to:
- Prepare and serve the daily noon meal. Prepare the day’s menu according to the menu plan, package meals for meals on wheels, all in a timely matter.
- Clean up of meal preparation and serving area. Clean meal preparation and serving areas according to health standards, follow a monthly, weekly, and daily cleaning schedule on kitchen equipment.
OTHER FUNCTIONS:
Evaluation of this position may also be based on performance of the following other functions, which include, but are not limited to:
Supervision of assistant cooks. Assign daily chores to staff, give staff clear and concise
directions on how to accomplish their chore assignments.
- Order food and kitchen supplies. Order all food and paper product items according to menu plan, responsible for accurate inventory of all ordered items.
- Keeps direct supervisor promptly informed of key/significant issues or concerns.
- Carries out duties and responsibilities in a safe and efficient manner to maintain safe work environment and surrounding area for oneself, co-workers and public. Responds to hazardous situations and/or potentially unsafe conditions by taking corrective action as capable and promptly notifying supervisory personnel.
- Performs related duties as assigned or apparent.
Experience and Skills:
- Prior restaurant management experience is preferred.
- Customer relations experience.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work schedule.
- Ability to perform work with a high degree of accuracy and organization.
- Ability to work cooperatively with others.
