Inside the Role

Procurement is one of the most important assignments at DTNA, as sourcing strategies are paramount to the long-term success of DTNA. As a member of TT/G42-4 you will define sourcing strategies that protect DTNA’s production targets, at the most cost-effective total cost of ownership. In addition, you will be part of an integrated team that is responsible for the supply chain, from End-To-End, and you will work collaboratively to address the most complex supply chain challenges.

Our employees receive annual training in professional negotiation tactics, as well as training courses on internal DTNA functions. This position provides visibility to senior executive management within DTNA and suppliers. There are multiple career advancement and travel opportunities within the team and department.

This position is responsible for the strategic procurement of harnesses and other components in the TT/G42-4 team.

We Take Care of Our Team

Position offers a starting salary range of $90,000 - $115,000 USD

Pay offered dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience

Qualifikationen

What You Drive at DTNA

  • Negotiate or renew supplier agreements to purchase critical parts, components, tooling or services for DTNA production from strategic suppliers.

  • Negotiate the most effective long-term programs for DTNA, including the total cost of ownership and supplier commitments that will differentiate DTNA in the marketplace.

  • Develop strong supplier partnerships, including long-term strategic partners.

  • Work with suppliers to achieve DTNA cost targets on New Product Projects (i.e. EMG).

  • Negotiate long-term agreements with suppliers.

  • Negotiate for exclusive products and services for DTNA.

  • Develop long-term commodity strategies, coordinated regionally or globally.

  • Evaluate alternative materials, methods, and technologies and alternative suppliers as necessary.

  • Support and monitor results reporting through global business systems.

  • Lead projects as assigned.

  • Act as mentor for team members within the team.

  • Act as manager proxy, as needed.

  • 10% travel required - as business dictates

Knowledge You Should Bring

  • BS/BA with a focus in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Industrial/Systems, Engineering, or related discipline

  • 3 years or more of work experience in business or technical field

  • 5 years or more in automotive industry

  • 3 or more years of Microsoft Office experience

  • Ability to communicate complex issues across groups and levels is required

  • A sense of urgency/accountability to resolve problems, lead tasks from start to finish

  • Customer orientation and a proven ability to prioritize work

  • Must be able to quickly analyze data and make effective decisions quickly

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, including ability to work cross functionally with local, regional or international teams.

  • The position requires a self-starter, used to working independently, meeting deadlines with attention to detail and experience identifying and solving the root cause of complex problems, with minimal supervision

Exceptional Candidates Might Have

  • Applicable Master’s degree (i.e. Supply Chain, Engineering, etc.)

  • Experience with Daimler Trucks procurement processes and tools OR knowledge of supplier landscape (regional and global), materials, and manufacturing technologies.

  • CPIM or CSCP
